How to Get a Link for a Photo on iPhone or Android
Want to share a photo as a link instead of an attachment, or paste an image URL into a form or forum? Here’s the fastest way on a phone.
Steps
- Open Photo to URL in Safari or Chrome.
- Tap Upload and choose the photo from your library.
- Wait a moment while it uploads.
- Tap Copy next to the link you need: share page, direct link, or code for forums and websites.
iPhone photos in HEIC format are converted automatically to a format every browser can open.
Location data
Photos from phones often include GPS location. With the default option, this metadata is removed before upload, and the server re-encodes images to remove any that’s left.
What about iCloud or Google Photos links?
| iCloud / Google Photos link | Photo to URL | |
|---|---|---|
| Account needed | Yes | No |
| Direct image link | No | Yes |
| Works in forums and HTML | No | Yes |
| Expiry | Varies | You choose |
Deleting later
Keep the delete link you’re shown after upload. It’s the only way to remove the image yourself, because there are no accounts.
