This Privacy Policy explains how PicLink (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit https://imagetourl.co (the “Site”) and use our photo to URL tool.

1. Summary

  • We save a few preferences in your browser’s local storage (keys: p2u_hist (your upload history on this device)). You can delete them at any time by clearing site data.
  • We use cookies only for basic functions and, with your consent where required, for analytics and advertising. See our Cookie Policy.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

How the tool handles your data

What we store: the images you upload (after metadata removal), their size, format, expiry, view count and a one-way keyed hash of your IP address for rate limits and abuse prevention. We do not store your raw IP address with your images, and we do not require an account or email.

Metadata: with the default option, EXIF/GPS data is removed in your browser before upload. The server re-encodes images, which removes remaining metadata.

Delete links: the secret part of your delete link is shown once, kept only as a hash on our side, and placed after “#” so it is not sent to our server when you open it. Your list of uploads on this device is saved in your browser’s local storage only.

Images are public to anyone with the link. They are not listed and search engines are asked not to index them. Expired and deleted images are removed from our storage; copies cached by a CDN expire shortly after.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.

Technical data. Our hosting provider and analytics tools may collect technical data such as IP address (often anonymized), browser, device type, referring page and pages visited, to keep the Site secure and understand usage.

3. How we use information

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Consent (non-essential cookies, analytics, advertising), legitimate interests (security, basic statistics) and legal obligation where applicable.

We may use hosting/CDN providers, analytics (for example Google Analytics) and advertising (for example Google AdSense), each with its own privacy policy.

6. Data retention

Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer you. Analytics data is kept for 14 months or less.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and similar laws) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. 8. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (16 in some countries), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
